Course Summary:
The Entry Level Work Skills Award at Nescot is a 1-year course where you spend one day a week in college learning the practical work skills required by todays employers. You will also spend time in the workplace on extended interviews potentially leading to permanent work with a job coach supporting you.

Course Details:
The course is designed for learners who have been on entry level studying vocational subjects and who now need to move on to work with support in place to assist them to do so.

The aim is to find work for a learner that is sustainable. There is a network of local employers who are willing to take on learners on extended job interviews in order to assess their suitability for work. If learners complete their probation and employers are happy they fit into their organisations then they may be offered paid or voluntary employment. If an employer feels that a learner is not suitable then alternative work placements will be found.

Learners will attend college one day a week in order to gain further work related qualifications and to provide support with dealing with work issues.

Career Progression:
Permanent work in the local community.

Other Information:
Additional support is provided in every class. Group sizes are no more than eight in number.

Fees:
For students aged 19 or over the tuition fee is approximately 535, unless on means tested benefits.
