To give people transferable processes that will help them to get the right results, stay better focused, achieve an improved work/life balance, and reduce their stress levels during their increasingly busy lives. Suitable for people of all levels with heavy workloads, working with lean resources, from all disciplines and areas, who have a choice over how they structure their work; people who manage people, tasks, communications, delegations, projects large and small; people who would benefit from a more professional image, and a better sense of achievement by becoming more effective as managers and leaders. In short anyone with decision-making responsibility from the CEO downwards.

Course programme

This is achieved through a phased delivery, supporting the delegate with personal coaching to ensure a substantial transfer of learning into the workplace.

The rationale behind this is that while we all have more than enough potential work to do to fill up our days, simply giving someone the theory is not enough, as work pressure takes over, and the urgency addiction drives people to their familiar way of working. Also time management and technical skills training in its pure form only shows people how to work more efficiently. If they are already doing the wrong things, they will just do more of it. So first we show people how to take control of their work and their organisational tools during the first of two workshops, in short ‘how to do the job right’. Then we ensure that they are in control during a personal coaching session to make sure the processes and tools are working. Finally during the second workshop phase we get people focussing on choice, goals, and process improvement, to maximise their effectiveness and become key results driven or ‘how to do the right job!’

Course Outline (Full Outline here)
Phase One: Priority Manager Working Smart Workshop 09.00-17.00
The initial workshop takes a full day, and introduces processes, tools and techniques for total effectiveness using Outlook. The workshop is individually focussed to allow for different job roles, skills levels and styles of working.

The workshop is carefully structured to make the most efficient use of time. Individuals are given the opportunity to learn the principles and processes, and to put those new skills into practice.

Phase Two: The Personal Consultation
Within three weeks of the initial Priority Manager Workshop, one of our coaches will visit each client in their own workplace.

The objective of this One to One Personal Consultation is to reinforce the skills and techniques introduced during the workshop and to customise their use to the specific needs and job requirements.

During this session which lasts in the region of an hour and a half we will tackle issues such as:

  • How to make your Priority Manager processes work for you
  • Working on one thing at a time
  • Managing and reducing interruptions
  • Keeping track of every commitment without forgetting any
  • How to work from a clear desk and in-box

Phase Three: Focus on Results/ Priority Planning 09.00-15.00
Shortly after the Personal Consultation you will attend the second extended half day workshop – “Focus on Results”. This workshop will help you to build on your recently acquired skills using results driven processes and tools.
