Exercise to Music Course (Module)
This workshop teaches you the fundamental principles of structuring a
safe and effective Step Aerobics class. Master class and choreography
handouts are provided along with a Workshop manual. You will learn all the
basic step moves, plus how to incorporate: impact, direction, step
approach, style, arm lines, linking and combining moves, and the use of
music. This will enable
you to create many step routines for your own
classes.
Exercise to Music Instructor Module Format
This
is a six-day Practical Workshop delivered over two weekends, Friday,
Saturday and Sunday. This is followed by a practical assessment four to
six weeks after the
Workshop.
On the Exercise to Music Course
you will learn the following:
· How to structure a safe and
effective mixed ability class
· Effective instruction and cueing
techniques
· How to work with the beats and phrases of the music
·
Health and Safety issues.
We aim to make the Exercise to Music
Course Practical Workshop both enjoyable and demanding. You'll need to
keep mentally alert, because there's a lot to learn, but it's fun too. As
well as practical work, you will need to complete some written work to
show how you've planned your class.
The Exercise to Music
Course AssessmentThe theory for this Exercise to Music Course
is assessed in a one-hour multi-choice exam, which you take on the first
day of the Practical Workshop. You get the chance to repeat the exam
should you fail. The Practical assessment for the Exercise to Music
Instructor course follows typically at least four weeks after the Workshop.
The
assessment includes both practical and written work, and meets the
required standard for Stage 1 of the OCR NVQ Level 2 in Exercise to Music.
There's always a very high pass rate on Future Fit Training courses, so
there's nothing to worry about!
