The Back to Basics is a 6 week course suitable for complete beginners, those who have 'muddled along' for years who would like know 'how to do it properly' or if you have had a break from cake decorating and you would like to refresh your skills. Week 1 starts with baking a fruit cake and in the weeks that follow you marzipan & ice your cake to achieve a professional smooth finish, crimping, basic piping and some simple decoration ideas including a teddy bear, butterflies, blossoms and a run out balloon. We will provide everything you need, the cake ingredients and all the materials and equipment - all you need to bring is an apron.
