The aim of the course is to develop students' interest in and enthusiasm for chemistry and appreciate its importantance to society. During the AS year you study Atoms, Bonds and Groups and Chains, Energy and Resources.At A2 you will study Rings, Polymers and Analysis and Equilibria, Energetics and Elements. Practical skills are assessed throughout each year. Lessons consist of 3 x 90 min.

Attendance Modes: Day
Assessment: Two units at AS and A2 Level are assessed through written examination. The Practical Skills units at AS and A2 Level are assessed through internal assessment. Written exams are available in January and June.
Progression Routes: A Level Chemistry is essential if you plan to study the subject at University and if you are interested in Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy. Chemistry combines well with other Sciences and Maths to give a wide choice of Degree courses and careers.
