About this Course

The NVQ level 2 is for anyone employed as a Carpenter and Joiner. This programme allows students to be trained in the workplace by their employer you will be assigned an assessor who will support you in the building of your portfolio (there is no College attendance for this programme).

Course programme

What will I study?
You do not attend College all evidence is gathered in the workplace. You will need to gather a range of evidence including the following:
• Hanging doors
• Fixing skirting & architrave
• Fitting kitchens
• Fitting stairs
• Erecting trussed rafter roofs

How will I be assessed?
By providing a portfolio of evidence which covers the criteria for a NVQ level 2 in Carpentry and Joinery.

What added value will I receive?
You will be assigned an assessor who will give you one to one support with the construction of your portfolio.

What can I progress to?
NVQ in Carpentry and Joinery Level 3.
