Level 2 Award in Food Safety aims to provide employees with food hygiene and food safety understanding which will enable them to contribute to any hygiene management system. In particular the programme aims to enable students to: work in a safe, healthy and hygienic manner; contribute towards improving food hygiene standards within an organisation's policy; identify key hygiene hazards in their own workplace; understand the importance of hygiene and food safety rules and working procedures; report potential hygiene and food safety problems. The course syllabus is generic in nature ' it sets out the principles of food safety and hygiene. We also endeavour to tailor the syllabus to the background of the student groups.
This course has replaced CIEH Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene.

How will I be assessed?
Final assessment is by means of a 30 question multi'choice examination lasting one hour. The exam is available in 3 disciplines: Catering, Manufacturing, Retail.
