ILM Certificate in Team Leading and/or the equivalent work experience, (normally 2 years' full time, or 3 years' part time experience). Students must show that they have both the ability and opportunity to meet assessment demands.

Part Time ILM Award in First Line Management

Course Description:
The course aims to give practising or potential first line managers the foundation for their formal development in this role. The qualification will look at developing basic management skills

The Award is a nationally recognised qualification and is awarded by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).

The following units will be covered on the course:

  • Solving problems and decision making
  • Understanding change in the workplace
  • Achieving objectives through time management

Part Time

Assessment and Progression:
Assessment is via 3 work-based assignments. There are no exams required for this qualification.

Students who successfully complete the Award will be awarded 5 credits at Level 3 and may progress to the Certificate in First-Line Management, which will involve studying for a further 15 credits.

Duration:
Students attend a total of 5 group sessions. In addition, they are provided with study packs to work through in their own time. It is estimated that students will need to spend around 20-30 hours outside the workshop times in order to complete the requirements of this course.
