The National Certificate in Floristry is a very practical course preparing learners for a career in floristry. It is aimed at those already working in the industry who would like to increase their knowledge and skills and at those who would like to take up floristry as a profession. The course will suit school leavers and mature adults alike. You will be expected to undertake work experience as part of the course unless you are already working in the industry. The course consists of nine units - Aspects of art and design in floristry, Hand-tied and presentation designs, Wedding designs, Funeral and sympathy designs, Introduction to planted designs, Floral decorations, Flower and plant care, Promotion and display, and Working in the industry. The course is assessed by practical observation of tasks, written portfolio work and adn on-line multiple choice test at the end of the course.
