Who The Course is for
Those who wish to gain a recognised qualification in sales advisors, customer service advisors, product experts or similar roles. This is suitable for entry level retail sales assistants and for young people still in full-time education wishing to experience the world of working in retail.
Course Content
It's not always the product or the price of it that persuades us to return to a shop. More often than not, it's the service. Helpful advice, a smile or just a helping hand can make a world of difference. It is becoming increasingly important for customers to enjoy their retail experience and even more important that staff are better trained.
This course includes units on
- Working effectively in retail teams
- Moving goods and materials manually in a retail environment
- Processing donated goods for resale or recycling in retail environment
- Contributing to food safety in a retail environment
- Keeping stock at required levels in a retail environment
- Wrapping and packing goods for customers in a retail environment
- Helping to keep the retail unit secure
- Helping to maintain health and safety in a retail environment
- Keeping the retail environment clean and hygienic (non-food)
Key skills in communication will also be studied as an integral part of the course.

For this qualification, candidates will be required to complete:
- a portfolio of evidence for each unit.
