Have statistics on the cost of stress and mental hill health to businesses. Be aware of the ways to manage people with an ongoing problem. Recognise the legal responsibilities for managing absence. Suitable for employers who wish to reduce staff absence and manage the situation more effectively. The course is ideal for: Line Managers. Supervisors. Personnel, Welfare and Training Officers. Human Resources Officers and Assistants. Anyone who has a responsibility for the attendance of others.

Course programme
A one day course aimed at employers who wish to reduce staff absence from mental ill health, and to become better equipped to conduct sensitive or difficult return to work interviews.
COURSE AIMS
- To become better equipped to conduct sensitive or difficult return to work interviews, confidently and effectively.
- To gain insight into the psychological reasons why employees go absent.
- To have an understanding of what stress is and how it can impact on mental health and return to work.
- To adopt remedial and preventative action to reduce stress after returning
- To improve communication whilst employees are off sick.
The emphasis is on learning through experience. There will be discussion and inter-active practical exercises throughout the day.
Participants are encouraged to express frank opinions and share experiences.
