You’ll get hands on experience through a broad range of projects from recording bands and using studio equipment to creating your own samples and exploring synthesis. This course will give you an extensive overview of the recording process, providing you with skills to work effectively in a studio recording environment.

About this course

There are no formal entry requirements however; as it is a fast-track to HE option, we do require that you have some experience in music, either as a musician, a producer, a DJ, etc.

The Access to Higher Education (HE) Diploma is a full Level 3 qualification, and awarded by CAVA (Cambridge Access Validating Agency), licensed by the QAA and accepted by Higher Education Institutions.

You’ll also develop your personal, business and management skills to give you everything you need to make your mark on the music industry. You will look at how the music industry works and how to get employment in it with a focus on how to market and promote yourself in the music industry.

Creating samples and exploring synthesis, learning how to use state of the art studio equipment such as microphones, mixing desks and software packages such as Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Pro Tools and Native Instruments Komplete. Midi & Audio Sequencing, technology in performance and DJing techniques. Using sounds created to produce music to moving image, creating soundtracks, effects and atmospheres. Composition & music theory, acoustics. Developing personal, buisness and management skills.
