Course programme

Access to Higher Education Diplomas aim to ensure that you are well prepared for university study as well as future employment so, in addition to studying core subjects, you will also cover units to develop study skills and academic writing. Subject areas you will be studying include: Criminology Criminal Law Sociology Psychology English and Maths are an essential part of your studies and will help you succeed on your course. These subjects help you develop confidence and are key employability skills that recruiting employers look for. If you do not meet the entry criteria but are interested in taking an Access to HE programme we may be able to offer you a Pre-Access course. This allows students to study three GCSEs in English Language, Maths and Sociology and will prepare you for the Access to HE programme. Our full-time courses are designed to help you achieve your ambitions whether your goal is to go on to a higher level of study or whether you are looking to start a job. Therefore as part of your course there will be employability and study skills (we call these PD Central) that are included to meet your needs and those of the industry you want your career in. Entry requirements: You must have the minimum requirement of GCSE English Language and Maths at grade A* to C. You will need to bring evidence of any qualifications you may have achieved to your interview. You will also be asked to bring a reference and a personal statement. Teaching & Assessment: Learning is assessed in a variety of methods to prepare you to study at university. This may include an extended essay, timed assessments under controlled conditions and report writing. Excellent attendance and punctuality is imperative to enable you to pass the course. Progression: Undergraduate programmes of study at university in Law, Criminal Justice, Business Law, Social Work and Psychology.
