What is the Accounting and Management Taster Day?
This course is suitable for those who are considering following an accounting or management course and are unsure what is involved. This one day course will help you make that decision. The course covers routine accounting procedures within the accounting system, as well as issues involved with managing or starting up a small business.

Course topics

• Recording income and expenditure by cash and cheque
• Double entry bookkeeping
• Preparing profit statements and balance sheets
• Entrepreneurship
• Business planning
• Personal planning

During the day you will learn how to:

• Make entries in accounting ledgers and investigate the preparation of final accounts.
• Examine management issues in business and business start-ups.

Staff will be on hand to provide advice about suitable business and management courses offered at Alton College.
