Overview
If you want to work in Leadership and Sports coaching, this course will give you a range of practical skills to support your career. Covering the development of the sport or activity, setting up, taking down and storing activity equipment, checking and servicing activity equipment, you'll be sure to give clients a positive impression of yourself and your organisation.

Entry Requirements
Level 1 Diploma in Sport and Leisure or 3 grade Ds at GCSE level (preferably including English and maths). Although a keen interest in Sport and experience would be considered.

Course Duration
One year – Full time.

Skills and Benefits
The Level 2 in Activity Leadership will qualify you to run your own sessions as an activity leader in Football, Basketball, Tennis, and other sports. You will be involved in Coaching young people of different ages and this will contribute to you developing the skills required to be a successful leader.

Mandatory Units
Prepare for Activity Sessions Lead Activity Sessions Equality and Diversity Conclude and Review Activity Sessions Support the Work of the Team and Organisation Promote Health, Safety and Welfare in Active Leisure

Optional Units
Contribute to Joint Working with Other Organisations Setting up, Taking Down and Storing Activity Equipment

Course Assessment
You will be assessed on your practical ability to deliver safe and organised sessions, Portfolio of Evidence and end tests.

Progression
Upon successful completion of the qualification, you will be able to apply for the Diploma in Sports Science (dependent on GCSE Profile), or a Level 3 course in Activity Leadership & Sports Development.
