Course summary
This is a flexible employment related degree that can be studied full-time over 2 years (three days per week) or 4 years part-time (1 day per week). The first year of study is held at West Cheshire College and the second year is held at the University of Chester's Warrington campus. Students have the option to complete a further year to top-up' to a BA or BSc (Hons) Degree at university. -

You will cover: Anatomy and Physiology, Events Management, Health & Fitness, Assessment & Monitoring, Learning at Work, Motivation & Behaviour Change, The Fitness Industry Health Perspectives and Introduction to Continuous Professional Development. -

How is the course assessed?
You will be assessed by a variety of methods such as live projects / work-based project, written assignments and reports, formal assessment, group presentations, peer assessment / feedback, practical assessment and employer feedback. -
Work based learning?
To meet the requirements of the course you will be required to undertake work placement at a local health or fitness club if you aren't already working in the industry. -
What equipment or resources might I need?
You will need a dark blue/black tracksuit, trainers, the Fitness Professional's Handbook and stationery. -
Progression routes after course
Progression includes the BA (Hons) Degree, gained by a 3rd year full-time top-up programme at university.
