What will I study?
The Diploma offers learners the opportunity of acquiring knowledge and skills in the broad context of business, administration and finance
Duration:
Two years
Do I need any additional qualifications/ skills?
Your Advanced Diploma includes an additional qualification such as an A Level or a BTEC qualification which will be agreed with your course team.
How will I be assessed?
The way that you carry out practical tasks will be observed and assessed, and this will need to be supported by evidence and by written work demonstrating knowledge and understanding of central issues. Assessment will take into account the way learners plan, research, analyse, evaluate and present information and their understanding of wider social, environmental and ethical issues relevant to their area of study. An extended project will provide an opportunity for learners to choose their own topic and explore it, demonstrating personal, learning and thinking skills and their grasp of the three functional skills. Assessment will be controlled and much will take place under supervised conditions. Success in the Advanced Diploma requires that learners have passed functional skills at Level 2.
What can I do afterwards?
The Advanced Diploma can lead you straight into Management Training or to University. Most Universities to date have indicated that they welcome Diplomas and your Diploma is seen as the equivalent of 3.5 A Levels by UCAS. The combination of skills and academic achievement which is a feature of the Diploma means that you should be able to apply for positions in a wide range of related industries and not be limited just to the employment indicated by your Diploma title.
Are there any additional costs involved?
Costs may include textbooks and will include a number of trips and visits over the two years.
