As I have been freelancing as a makeup artist for over two years, I felt that my skills were still quite novice or just needed some brushing up.
My lesson with Sumantha was very helpful indeed and I learned a great deal. I was given useful feedback on how I currently apply makeup which I found very useful as I don't receive enough ongoing feedback in my work. She also provided me with other tips/advice on makeup application which I will take with me in future work. A great lesson.

I felt that the course was very helpful, but as I only had a short session I felt it was slightly rushe, I would of liked to apply the make up myself. But I did learn as much as I could wit great tips involved.

I took this course earlier this year...I aimed to learn how to do my own make-up properly and enjoyed it so much (and found I had a nak for it) that I have decided to start getting qualified to work as a make-up artist and hair stylist. I was reallly pleased with the course, Sam is a really friendly and I felt confident because she knew what she was talking about. The thing I liked the most is that she managed to find my strengths and weaknesses and really tailored the course to make sure that I was fully confident. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this course to anyone...

It is one to one and tailored to suit what I wanted out of the course. It is impossible to remember everything because there is so much information to take in but the thing I liked was that Sam gave me a detailed training guide where I made notes which I refer to all the time.
It was very useful because I have spent so much money on make-up but the course made me realise that the money is watsed unless you know how to use it properly, with the right tools.
Definitely - Sam is professional and knowledgable and really knows what she is talking about. I wasn't confident in doing my mascara because I really don't like touching my eyes, but Sam really encouraged me and showed me different techniques.
This course was held at my house on a weekday evening which was great because I haven't found a course which suits my availability and knowing that I don't have to travel anywhere is a bonus after a heavy day at work!
I thought it was really good value for money - compared to how much money I spend on buying myself make-up, it was a real investment learning how to use it properly.← | →

I did this course for 3 days and found it to be very interesting and useful. I have never done hair before and not been very creative even when doing my own, but this has honestly given me the confidence to explore and challenge myself to do various hairstyles.
I think learning the dynamics of the hair annd the science behind it has really made me understand what to do with it and how various haitsyles would work on a client and how they would not.
Practice makes perfect and im looking forward to be able to me more creatiuve with learning how to do my own hairstyles as well as making some up! I would say im more confident in playing with hair now and it does not seem as daunting as it was to me maybe a few days ago!
Thanks Sumthana for your help and time in this
A very valuable course.

I just finished my hair styling course with Sam and am really happy with how it went. I couldn't make the course starting on the 23rd so Sam kindly arranged dates to suit me. The course itself was very thorough and I had been on another course a year ago and this was much better.
The last course I went on was run by a make-up artist and covered some hair styling but I really didn't leave her very confident. Sam is a make-up artist but also a hairdresser and I could really tell the difference because she had such in depth knowledge.
I loved how much practical experience I got and the fact that Sam could show me so many techniques and share her own experiences filled me with a lot of confidence.
I am so happy that now I have trained for make-up and hair with Sam and would like to thank her for inspiring me!

the course is very thorough and Sam tailored it to modern trends and talked about her own experiences - I found this really useful because I was a bit scared of difficult client scenarios.
Regarding the center, I must say that the assessment part is really good. I got a chance to revise what I had learnt and also, although it wasn't very pressurised, I did feel the pressure because I knew my work was being watched and assessed. This was good because that is the same feeling you get when you have your client - they too will give you their verdict of what they think of your work. So after the course I felt really prepared. ← | → -
After learning how to do my own make-up from Sam I realised I had a real interest in make-up and decided to look into being a make-up artist. As I feel confident in her teaching I decided to take this course, and I am so pleased that I did!
I really liked the level of detail and also the amount of practice I got during the training. I thought that I would end up with the skills but would need more time afterwards to feel confident enough to do other peoples make-up but Sam was really encouraging and the amount of practice I have had during the course means that I do feel ready. In fact I had my first client a week ago - scary but loved it!
I am due to take the hair styling course later this month as I want to work as a freelancer for weddings and special occasions, am really looking forward to it.
The professional picture that Sam sent me of my work was a really good stepping stone for me to be able to get my first client as I had an image of my work. I couldn't believe I had done it myself!
I found the assessment really useful because I was able to revise what I had learnt but also, it gave me a taste of the feeling of doing a real client, which made me feel a lot more confident when I had my first real one. I looked at other courses but they only give you a certificate for attending the course, not from an assessment, and I have found that people are more confident to go with me as their make-up artist even though I am new to it, when I tell them that I have been assessed.
