A minimum of Grade D GCSE in English and Mathematics or have successfully completed a level 1 programme. If you dont have the required entry qualifications there will be an opportunity for you to demonstrate your abilities to undertake the course.

Description of the Course

It takes a business brain, as well as a way with numbers, to get ahead.You might be keeping track of one persons finances or a global corporations, so theres a lot of variety. You could work for any type of business record companies, major manufacturers, football clubs, charitiesOf course, you wont reach accountant status immediately. Most Apprentices qualify as accounts assistants, credit control clerks, accounts clerks, or finance assistants, who all help accountants to keep financial records and prepare accounts.
Course content
The framework consists of:
AAT NVQ Level 2 in Accounting
· Preparing ledger balances & initial trial balance
· Recording income and receipts
· Supplying information for management control
· Working with computers
· Achieving personal effectiveness
· Contributing to maintenance of a healthy, safe and productive working environment
· Making and recording payments
· Employer Rights and Responsibilities
· Key Skills: Level 1 Application of Numbers
· Key Skills: Level 2 Communication
Assessment
Written assessments, portfolio building, one external exam
Who is the course for?
Anyone working working a minimum of 16 hours a week paid employment in the Accounting field
Entry requirements
A minimum of Grade D GCSE in English and Mathematics or have successfully completed a level 1 programme. If you dont have the required entry qualifications there will be an opportunity for you to demonstrate your abilities to undertake the course.
What can I do after this course?
Advanced Apprenticeship which incorporates AAT Intermediate (NVQ Level 3 in Accounting).

This course incurs no fees for 16-18 and £60 contribution from employer towards professional fees and exams..
