Assertiveness and Confidence

Introduction

This business training seminar on assertiveness and confidence training is highly participative, entertaining and run in accelerated 'learning by doing' mode. You will appreciate how using innovative and creative techniques will provide cost conscious and profit producing solutions, improve internal and external 'customer' delight, develop better teambuilding and increase personal and professional development in their organisations.

  • Introductions: icebreaker exercise to introduce the group and trainer.
  • Programme: the programme for the day - checking it meets needs.
  • Objectives: programme and personal.
  • 'Heroes and Villains': examining styles and values admired or not!.
  • The behaviour continuum and styles: aggressive, passive, assertive.
  • Barriers to being assertive - personal, organisational.
  • Transactional Analysis (T.A.): an introduction to T.A. as a communication tool.
  • Building self-esteem: recognising self worth.
  • Building rapport: working effectively with others.
  • Dealing with conflict: 'staying in adult'.
  • Sensitive issues: interactive session dealing with real issues.
  • Feedback skills: tools, techniques and skill practices.

Speakers:

Peter Bullivant

Peter Bullivant, FCIPD, has spent his entire working career in the field of people development across a range of sectors. This has included education, manufacturing, financial services, call centres and local authorities where he has held a variety of senior HR roles.

He has practical experience of dealing with people issues associated with fast paced change both as a line manager and business leader.
