About the Course
The course is mainly "hands on" where you will be given an opportunity to develop a wide range of work-related skills and qualifications. The following subjects are included.
OCR Certificate for IT Users (Including File Management, Spreadsheets, Powerpoint) -Keyboarding (Touch Typing) Text/Word Processing, OCR(RSA) Level 2(Intermediate) Certificate.
OCR Certificate in Administration Level 2
* Communication - Preparing Routine Business Documents
* Working with Colleagues and Customers
* Business Administration - Preparing for work in Organisations
* Following Routine Office Procedures.
Course Aims
This course aims to provide people with the appropriate skills to gain office based employment. There is emphasis on helping people who might be at a particular disadvantage and wishing to change the direction of their life. Such as:
* Being a single parent
* Having no qualifications
* Having dependants to care for (children or other disabled/infirm relative)
* Having difficulty with reading, writing or working with numbers
* Having a disability
* Living in a remote rural area (e.g. Calshot, Blackfield)
* Living on an isolated housing estate
What are the entry requirements?
How is the course assessed?
A mixture of centre-set activities, internally marked assignments and portfolio building. Students will have an opportunity to spend a period of work experience at a local employer where you will carry out "real work" in a supportive environment.

Writing materials and folder.
Blank disks or memory stick.
Fees
A Fee: £890.00, B Fee: £ 890.00, C Fee: £10.00
Are there any other costs?
£60 College Deposit (£30 refundable) to cover loan of books, use of internet and Recreation Centre. Students receiving eligible income related benefits may qualify for a concessionary fee of £10. Students who do not have a full Level 2 qualfication(ie 5GCSEs at grade A*-C or and NVQ2 equivalent) may be eligible to study the course FREE as part of the Government Skills Strategy. Please request details of Level 2 Entitlement.
