This course is designed to give the participants a basic understanding and appreciation of fault finding and repair techniques on electronic equipment.

Course Content

• Basics in the fault location process and techniques include:-
• Confirmation of the existence of the reported fault
• Asking the relevant questions to establish the fault symptoms.
• Using appropriate fault diagnostic methods. e.g. step by step approach.
• Carrying out relevant equipment checks to aid fault diagnosing.
• Determine fault characteristics
• Location of a fault to a block within the overall electronic circuit.
• Location of a fault to component level.
• Repair techniques for electronic faults on electronic circuits.
• Testing the repaired equipment by using an appropriate test procedure to confirm that the performance specification has been met.
• Recording of fault and repair details
