A one and a half day practical course on structural repairs to cored laminates with damage to one skin only and the core. The course will include practical repair to a sandwich panel where the outside laminate and the core are damaged and need to be repaired. NB: Vacuum-bagging techniques will be used to bond replacement materials.

GRP Structural Repair Techniques (1 1/2 Days)

About the course:
A one and a half day practical course on structural repairs to cored laminates with damage to one skin only and the core. The course will include practical repair to a sandwich panel where the outside laminate and the core are damaged and need to be repaired.   • Damage assessment
  • Removal of damage with routers and cutters
  • Grinding tapers and scarph angles
  • Damaged core removal
  • Potting in replacement core (bagged)
  • Replacing damaged laminate to the original specification (bagged)
  • Fairing back and replacing gel coat
  • Cosmetic surface finishing techniques
