BOHS P901 Management and Control of Domestic Type Hot and Cold Water Services

The P901 is designed to provide background and an overview of the risk of legionella infection and how it can be controlled in domestic type hot and cold water systems.

The course will include the following:

• Origins and causes of legionaries disease - case studies
• Basic water chemistry and it's relevancy to controlling risks
• Types of systems at risk
• Overview of the legal requirements - general duties, risk assessment, risk control and monitoring
• HSE Guidance L8
• Principles of safe plant operation
• Requirements for risk assessment and record keeping
• Responding to outbreaks and investigations

This course is also a pre-requirement before undertaking course P902- Management and control of evaporative cooling systems and other high risk systems.
