What are the entry requirements?
You will be assessed on your English and Maths skills at interview.
After applying you will have an interview to determine which course is suitable for your needs and abilities.
  • Minimum Literacy Level: Entry 2

  • You can read and understand short pieces of writing such as letters, messages, simple stories, timetables and adverts. You can write short pieces of writing - for example an email to a friend, a simple letter, a story or a message.
  • Minimum Numeracy Level: Entry 2

  • You can work with numbers, symbols, and simple diagrams. You can add and subtract simple numbers and use simple fractions. You can use money, tell the time, measure things and know about squares, triangles and rectangles.


What qualification will I receive?
BTEC Introductory to Business, Retail & Administration

Where can it lead?
Students can progress onto Level 2 Certificate in Business, Administration, Retail or equivalent. It also provides a stepping stone into employment in the business, retail and administration industries where some previous experience is necessary to gain initial employment.

What will I study?
Subjects you will study will include: Starting work in Business, Retail and Administration, Working in Business, Retail and Administration, Introducing Customer Service. You will also study Key Skills including English and Maths.

How will I be taught?
Study is conducted in the form of theory and practical sessions. Practical sessions are taken in our Office Services Centre and during work experience.

How will I be assessed?
The course will be assessed through a number of assignments; one assignment will be externally-set. Assignments will be marked by your lecturers and externally moderated by the examination board. You will be required to sit externally assessed written tests for Key Skills units.

What support is available while I am on the course?
Integrated language support is very much a part of this course. The College's extensive learning resources are available to all learners.

Age under 19 on 31st August of the year you start your course? Study forFREE.
