CACHE Entry Level Certificate in Preparation for Child Care (Entry Level

The Cache Entry Level Certificate in Preparation for Childcare is about learning how to be a good parent & how to care for a young child in the home.
It supports your personal development by helping you to identify & achieve your own goals in education & training.
This certificate does NOT give you a qualification to work with children but is a step towards further education & training
Entry RequirementsYou are not required to have obtained any formal qualifications to be accepted onto the Entry Level Certificate course.
You will need to have a basic level of literacy but can obtain support whilst on this course.
Course Content
There are 3 course units that you will study which are:
·Pregnancy & the responsible parent
·Caring for children in the home 0-3 years 11 months
·Play & learning in the home 0-3 years 11 months
There are also 3 additional units of study.
You will also study for qualifications in Application of Number, Communications & Information Computer Technology
How will I be assessed?
There are no formal exams for the main units of study. However, for each unit you will be required to complete a number of pieces of work. You will need to pass each piece of work to gain the full certificate.
What can I do next?
Students will not be qualified to work with young children on completion of this course but can progress on to the CACHE Foundation Award in Caring for Children (CFCC) - Level 1 programme.
