What is this course about? This introductory course will enable you to develop the basic skills and knowledge in caring for children and includes some work experience

Who is this course for? We welcome applications from people over 16 who have a genuine interest in child care and a suitable personality for this very demanding work. Caring for children demands great sensitivity and compassion. We therefore seek mature candidates aged 16 or over, and welcome members of both sexes, since men are under-represented in this area of work

What do I need to get on the course?
· Four GCSEs at grade E or above including English or

What will I study? You will attend College and a work placement to prepare you to work in a supervised role competently, safely and effectively with children from birth to age 16. Your placement will be carefully selected and will provide practical experience in nurseries and schools

What can I do after the course? On completion, you can progress on to further training at Level 2, such as the Certificate in Child Care and Education, NVQ Early Years Care and Education or BTEC First Diploma in Health and Social Care.
