CACHE Foundation Award in Caring for Children - Full-Time(2010/2011)
Study Method:
There are various studying methods on this course including classroom sessions, independent study, practical and creative work.
Duration :One year.
Who the Course is For:
This programme is appropriate for students aged 16-19 years with a caring attitude and an interest in childcare. No formal qualifictions are necessary and it may be that students did not do very well in school.
Assessment:
The course is continually assessed throughout he year and students will produce a portfolio of five assignments and 2 assessment reports.
At the end of the year there is an externally set short answer test paper which covers everything that has been taught.
Course Leads To:
This qualification is not a work based qualification. You will need a Level 2 programme to work in nurseries, creches or as a welfare assistant but could lead you onto the BTEC Introductory Diploma in Health & Social Care (Level 1), the BTEC First Diploma in Care (Level 2) or possibly the CACHE Certificate in Childcare & Education (Level 2).
