Cake Decorating Level 3

Course Aims:
This qualification has been designed for students who are interested in developing their skills further in Cake Decorating and Sugar Flower making.

Course Content:
Advanced royal icing, collars, full collars, floating collars
Advanced sugarpaste, bas relief, quliing decoupage
Modelling, hand modelling, rolling, cutting, using moulds

Progression:
Students on completion of this course may choose to study one of the part-time or full-time Catering courses at college.

Awarding Body:
NCFE

Exam:
Assessment is continuous throughout the course. Students must produce a portfolio of evidence which is assessed by the Tutor and verified by the NCFE moderator.As an integral part of the course students must also complete a workbook evidencing competence in the assessment criteria.

NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Creative Craft (Cake Decorating)

Course available at Waterloo College only.

Other Costs:
Learners must provide their own materials.
Full details will be given by the course Tutor on enrolment.
There is an estimated overall cost to the student of 75 for equipment / materials throughout the year for cake decorating.This will be payable by the student as the weeks progress according to the planned activities.
Additional cake bases may also be required.

Duration:
Six hours per week for 30 weeks.
