Cake Decoration ABC Certificate Level 1

About the course:
This course is for anyone interested in Cake Decorating. No experience is necessary. Students range from 17 to 63. You will make a square Royal iced Christmas cake to take home, a round dummy Royal iced cake and a sugar paste cake to take home. During the course you will produce some simple design work and a theory folder will be completed to support the practical work (about an hour a week). No need to take notes all work given out as hand outs! No exam, the three cakes are your assessments!

Course Content:
The course is made up of the following:

Preparation and use of Royal Icing - You will learn how to make royal icing, Coating, Shells, Scrolls, Bulbs, Line work, simple lettering, Templates, theory of colour and design.

Sugarpaste - Covering cakes, crimping and embossing, recipes, faults and simple marzipan modelling.

Equipment Requirements:
Some equipment will be needed. Approx. £40
This will not be required all at once and there is a small amount of equipment, which may be borrowed.
