Caring for Children CACHE Foundation Award Level 1

Course Overview
An excellent introduction to the type of knowledge and understanding that you will require when working in childcare, education and play work. Although this award is not a licence to practice it is a useful introduction if you are thinking of a career in childcare.

Course Structure
The programme is delivered over one year and consists of the following units:

• Personal Development
• Human Growth and Development
• Food and Nutrition
• Health and Safety Practices in home and group settings
• Care of Children
• Play and Practical Activities
• Orientation to Work Programme

Additionally the course involves work on Basic Skills of Communication, Application of Number and First Aid.

Work visits and placements maybe arranged to introduce students to possible work settings with children where appropriate.

Qualification Aims
CACHE Foundation Award in Caring for Children â€" Level 1

Assessments/Examinations
Mainly assessed through assignments and projects completed during the course. There is one external test. Basic Skills qualifications can also be obtained.

If you are 19 years of age or over at the start of the course the tuition fee of£495 per year may be payable
