Course Overview:
Suitable for beginners and more experienced ceramicists. During this course you will be able to experiment with different types of clay and glazes to create ceramic artworks.

You will explore different methods of making ceramics, which will vary from term to term. As well as learning the various skills applicable to ceramic making, decorative techniques and glazing skills will also be taught. Tools are provided but please bring an overall and a notebook.

Course programme

Course Content:
Students will be taught by group and one to one demonstration and given detailed handouts to support the verbal input in class. You will cover the following elements in this course:

Pinching

Hand building with soft and firm slabs

Slip decoration

Basic glazing techniques will also be covered.
Assessment Methods:
On going assessment to check making technique, assessment of finished object and projects. The tutor will give verbal feedback as you work on practical tasks in class.
