What will you be learning?
This course provides training in counselling skills to enhance relationships rather than training to become a counsellor, and involves group discussions, listening skills practice, communication skills, self-awareness exercises and an introduction to counselling theories. You will study: Appreciation of the basics of counselling, professional context and relationship; introduction to the skills used by a counsellor and introduction to personal development. You will be assessed through weekly reflective journals, skills assessment and a short externally assessed written assignment.
