The NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills and Theory is an ideal qualification for those seeking to enhance their fundamental role through the use of counselling skills (eg nurses/social workers). It will also be useful to people seeking a career change and wishing to develop as professional counsellors, and to those offering help on a one-to-one basis. It will also be useful to those wishing to consolidate their skills and knowledge in a counselling context.

Assessment will be based on an on-going reflective journal including a case study, simulated interviews and skills practice and presentations.
Each candidate is required to take an externally set exam which will be undertaken by the students at home over a 4 week period with tutorial support. This exam will assess the knowledge and practice from the mandatory units.
