Certificate in Skills for Working Life

This course offers students the opportunity to explore avariety of avenues if they are unsure of what they want to do in the future. It includes core units in Health and Safety, IT, Maths and English, and opens up pathways to Hair and Beauty, Art, Sport and IT. Students on this course study at Entry Levels E1 - E3. Progression may be to Level 1 courses within the department and the College. Students will need to demonstrate suitable levels of literacy and numeracy to cope with the demands of Levels E1 - E3.

Work Skills
This is a new course offered to students who want the opportunity to gain real skills for work, ranging from where and how to apply for jobs, interview techniques and practical work in the workplace. The course offers students a placement for one day a week throughout the course, enabling them to experience different aspects of work throughout the course. For those who are keen to train and work, dedicated support will be available to help you apply for jobs and training throughout your course. Alongside this, all students will take English and Maths. Students will need to demonstrate suitable levels of literacy and numeracy to cope with the demands of a Level 1 course.
