Course outline

The Certificate in Travel is a one year qualification recognised by the travel industry. You will look at areas of travel agency work and the course will improve your skills and increase your chances of gaining employment within the travel and tourism Industry.

How you will learn

Through individual, small groups and whole class activities. Formal deadlines are set, with regular testing.

How you will be assessed

Through coursework for unit 207 Retail Travel Services and unit 210 Additional Travel Services. These are small, travel related assignments.

Units 201 UK Travel and Tourism Destinations,

205 Worldwide Travel and Tourism Destinations and 910 Additional Travel and Tourism Services are on-line exams spread throughout the year.

Other complementary subjects

BTEC National Travel and Tourism is the most popular choice. However any AS and A level will complement Certificate in Travel especially Geography, Business and Language courses.

What you can do after this course

It depends on you really. It would lead to a possible degree in Tourism Management/Tourism Studies.

It would also give you a useful step up to a job in the Tourism Industry.

Geography GCSE would be useful

You are expected to buy a travel atlas, as this is essential for the exam.
