Course programme
This qualification prepares you to work unsupervised, or in a supervisory capacity, with children and their families in a variety of settings and environments. The course has been designed to provide the knowledge and understanding that support competent practice. You will study 9 mandatory units: An introduction to working with children; development from conception to age 16 years; supporting children; keeping children safe; the principles underpinning the role of the practitioner working with children; promoting a healthy environment for children; play and learning in children's education; caring for children; development of professional skills within children's education; 3 additional units and practical training focusing on the age range 1 year to 7 years 11 months. You will be assessed by practical assignments, portfolio and case studies.
What happens when you have finished?
You can progress onto a Level 4 CACHE qualification or other higher qualifications.
