Childcare Foundation Entry Level 3

Course Overview
This course is suitable for students who would like to follow a childcare programme but may not have reached the expected grades for Level 1 or who may have experienced an interrupted education through personal trauma or other factors.

Course Structure
The programme is delivered over one year and consists of 3 units:

· Pregnancy and the Responsible Parent.

· Caring for Young Children 0-3years 11months.

· Play in the Home with young children 0-3 years 11months.
Additionally the course involves English, Maths, I.C.T., Personal and Professsioanal Development and the possibility of a work placement. Regular tutorial sessions are also included in the programme to develop personal skills, team building and to discuss course progress.

Qualification Aims
CACHE Entry Level in Preparation for Child Care

Ascentis Certificate in Personal and Professional Development, Edexcel Functional Skills in English, Maths, I.C.T.

Assessments/Examinations
Continuous assessments and review throughout the course.

Edexcel Functional Skills exams to be sat in June.



Cost / Equipment
Tuition fee is free but there are additional costs.

£35 Contribution towards course materials

£34 CRB Check (for any student who goes out on a Care placement)

Cost of three passport size photos.
