About the course
Reaseheath has a national and long established reputation for delivering excellent dairy herd management courses and our students are always in demand. Having the Genus MOET herd onsite gives students the opportunity to work with the premier genetic merit herd in the UK. If you are considering our mixed farming option, you will also work with our commercial sheep and pig enterprises and on arable production.
This course aims to provide a full range of practical understanding - from animal health through to the production of business plans.

  • Livestock nutrition
  • Animal health
  • Livestock housing
  • Grassland management
  • Functional skills in Maths, English or ICT (dependent on previous qualifications)
plus with the dairy herd management option

Length of the course
  • 1 year full time
  • 2 years part time (1 day per week)

What qualifications will I gain?
  • City & Guilds Advanced National Certificate in Agriculture with Dairy Herd Management/Mixed Farming
  • Additional training is provided in a number of disciplines and students can work towards one of the NPTC qualifications below:
    - All Terrain Vehicle
    - Tractor Driving
    - Veterinary Medicine Certificate
    - Transportation of Livestock Certificate
  • Functional skills in Maths, English or ICT
