This course give you an opportunity to improve your ensemble skills and explore a wide range of musical styles. Different repertoire is studied every term.

Course programme

The course will focus on a number of pieces each term in a variety of styles. Various aspects of ensemble technique - tuning, balance, interpretation etc - will be explored according to the demands of the repertoire. The works will then be performed at the end of term.

Rehearsals, discussion and exercises. You will be expected to practise your parts outside class time. Some sheet music may be required. Please bring a pencil.

Additional information

You are welcome to stay in the Wind Ensemble for as many terms as you wish. Different repertoire is covered each term. City Lit also has other ensemble courses for wind players, including Big band, Chamber music ensembles, Orchestra workshop, and specialist short coursese during the Summer School each year.
