Course programme
This is a vocational course for those wishing to gain experience in music production techniques. It is a practical course with an emphasis on creativity and production techniques used in all modern music genres. This includes hip hop, rock, UK urban music, dance and many other sub-genres linked to digitally produced music.
The course offers you a broad introduction into the world of a music producer/artist.
You will be taught by current and ex-industry professionals, covering a wide range of digitally produced music. You will also complete work experience and visits to local music venues to further develop your knowledge. It would be advantageous to play an instrument but this is not essential. You will also engage in GEM and GAP activities to develop your English, maths and employability skills. You will also take the Silver Arts Award as part of your programme.
The Creative Music Producer Diploma is predominantly a practical course with most work being completed in sessions. However, it is useful for you to have software at home to practice production techniques. If a student also plays an instrument, this is an advantage but not a necessity.
