Course programme



The Creative Musician Diploma course programme is for those who have a passion for music and music technology and are considering an exciting career in the music industry and further study at Level 3. You will develop your key skills in both music performance and music technology and Creative Musician students take part in live College performances throughout the year, gaining valuable first-hand experience as a performer or sound engineer.


Sessions include group and individual musician work, practical workshops for music production, written assignments and discussions; enrichment activities such as gigs and visits to venues. Facilities include a music production studio, recording suite, two rehearsal rooms and large hall for performances.


You will complete group and individual tasks including written assignments, and practical workshops in our well-equipped music suites. You will also complete work experience and visits to local music venues to further develop your knowledge. You will also engage in GEM and GAP activities to develop your English, maths and employability skills. You will also take the Silver Arts Award as part of your programme.


Creative Musician RSL Diploma Level 2 Units include:

  • Studio Recording

  • Remixing and Sampling

  • Creative Production

  • Music Business and Promotion

  • Sound Reinforcement

  • Live Performance




Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs (grades A*-E) or satisfactory results in a relevant Level 1 qualification, and an audition to demonstrate musical ability at grade 2 or equivalent.

Course Progression

After completing the course, you can progress to the Creative Musician Subsidiary/Extended Diploma or seek employment in the music industry.
