The Foundation Degree in Digital Imaging and Photography has been designed to provide specialist skills using photographic and digital imaging (including moving image) processes and technology relevant to contemporary creative and commercial practice. The aims of the programme are to:
Equip students with the skills, knowledge and understanding for versatility and confidence, relevant to the needs of clients and employment in the photography / digital imaging sector
Provide students with an effective balance between education and training by promoting self-development and creative expression, intellectual enquiry and the visual communication of ideas underpinned by the acquisition of transferable, technical and practical skills and knowledge

. What are the entry requirements?
Entry onto this course is through a successful interview with portfolio of work. Additionally, we will normally expect applicants to have one of the following qualifications and minimum of 64 UCAS points:
Pre-Degree Foundation in Art and Design
A Levels (Grade A-C) in a relevant subject
BTEC Level 3 qualification, grade Merit or above
Students are also accepted who have appropriate non-standard entry qualifications and/or relevant experience. Applications are welcome from mature students with appropriate experience. Mature students who do not fall into one of the above categories will be invited to attend an informal interview at which their previous learning, industrial experience, needs and aspirations can be thoroughly explored. If it is felt that they are in a position to benefit from the course, they will be offered a place.
Direct entry to the second year is possible for suitably qualified applicants.
All applicants are invited to attend an interview with either the Course Leader or Course Tutor. You will be notified of your date for your interview by our Admissions Team who will also update UCAS Track with details of your application.. Career Path
Students will be prepared for employment across a range of photographic and digital imaging industries in areas such as photojournalism, editorial, studio still life, portraiture, landscape, fashion or architectural photography, picture research, gallery and technical support.. Students will be prepared for employment across a range of photographic and digital imaging industries in areas such as photojournalism, editorial, documentary, portraiture, advertising, The course is designed as a progression route to the BA (Hons) Top up in Digital Imaging and Photography which is a one year ‘top up’ designed to build on existing photographic and digital imaging skills and support students to become confident and articulate image-makers.. You don’t need cash to enrol on a course.
Tuition fee loans cover university or college tuition fees and are paid direct to the university or college, by Student Finance England. They are available to all eligible students regardless of household income. The amount you pay back is dependent on how much you earn and not how much you owe and you won’t need to start paying them back until you are earning more than £21,000 per year. Student Loans will also help to support your living costs.
