Arrange Theory Tests
Your Multiple Choice and Hazard Perception Theory Tests can be arranged when your new licence arrives.
The theory test is in two parts - multiple choice part & hazard perception part. Multiple Choice and Hazard Perception
You can take either of the tests first but you’ll need to pass both before you can start training.
The two parts can be taken at different times but both parts must be passed within 24 months to obtain a valid theory test pass.
Part One Multiple Choice
There is a question bank of around 900 questions to learn. Most people need approximately 15 to 10 hours study time to prepare for the test.
When the test begins a question and several possible answers will appear on screen. You select one correct answer by touching the screen or using the mouse.
On the test will be asked 100 questions in 120 minutes. You can move between questions and ‘flag’ questions that you want to come back to later in the test. The pass mark is 85 out of 100.
Part Two Hazard Perception
You will be presented with 19 computer generated images (like film clips) that are approximately 2 minutes long which feature everyday road scenes.
Each clip has one developing hazard but one of the clips shows two developing hazards.
This test lasts 40 minutes and the pass mark is 67 out of 100.
