This course is free for school leavers (Aged 16-18)

Course Content: This course will provide you with practical skills that are used in electrical installation and is ideally suited to school leavers who wish to become electricians working in the maintenance or installations trades.

You will be assessed through the completion of various training activities as well as an externally set knowledge test. With further studies in this area, you may have the opportunity to progress to technician testing engineer or design.

Throughout the year you will study the following subjects, Electrical Regulations; Science; Workshop Technology; Electronics; Key Skills; Information Technology; and Workshop Practice.

Special Features: Leads to the City and Guild qualification in Electrical Installation, you may also have the opportunity to complete a foundation level Key Skills certificate.

Course Format: Full time, usually 3 days per week.

Progression: Once you have completed this course you may progress onto NVQ Level 3, depending upon whether or not you have suitable employment in a vocationally relevant trade at that time.
