We bring you a first for Qualtech – First Aid training
We are delighted to offer you a first aid course delivered in a way that keeps course delegates interested and focused, thus helping to fix the knowledge and learning in the participant's memory. So should a true emergency occur delegates will be well-prepared and able to deal with the event effectively.
Learning is encouraged through the provision of anatomical charts, use of a life sized skeleton, models of body parts, plenty of first aid materials and, of course, any army of resus manikins.
Furthermore the participants will ‘stumble' across staged scenarios, for example during their coffee break, that they will be required to react to… perhaps an unconscious casualty with burns and scalds, or even a compound fracture with bones protruding and stage-blood. That way this first experience will still be vivid and make it easier for them to cope when they are faced with a real-life situation.
CONTENT
The following topics are covered during the course:
- Action at the scene of an incident
- Unconsciousness
- Recognition and treatment of shock
- Basic life support
- Control of bleeding
- Blood borne pathogens
- The first aid kit
- Simple record keeping
Participants are also required to complete an additional module which may be specified by clients, e.g. epilepsy, sprains, hypothermia, gunshot wounds, meningitis.
The course is delivered at our fully equipped training facilities in the QED Centre or, by prior arrangement, can be delivered at customers' premises if preferred.
