Engineering/Electronic NC

This course is suitable if you are employed, or wish to be employed at technician grade in the electrical industry. It will give you broad-based knowledge across a wide range of electrical topics with the necessary supporting principles and mathematics.
It is a 2 year programme of study. (1st Year is a National Award)Entry RequirementsYou will need any of the following qualifications to join the course:

·BTEC First Certificate in Engineering·Four GCSE's at Grade "C" or above, to include English Language, Mathematics and One Science subject·Suitable equivalent course(s) of study·Suitable prior learning

Course Content
The subjects you will study include:·Communications·Mathematics·Electrical/Electronic principles·Principles & Application of Electronic Devices & Circuits·Microprocessor systems·Business systems·Project·Fault finding·Digital systems·Selection and Application of PLC's·Micro Controllers.
How will I be assessed?
You will be continually assessed through coursework in each subject and by a Programme of Integrative assignments combining work from all subjects. You will also have an end-of-year exam in some subjects.
What can I do next?
Successful completion of the course will allow entry to a Higher National Certificate course, or with distinction grades, onto a degree course.
