You may not have done well at school but you will be keen to learn and get a qualification for your skills., This course is ideal for young people who are looking for a course where they can develop their basic skills and learn about work skills in a range of different types of jobs. ,

What do I need to get on the course? No specific qualifications required, a suitable reference from school.

What will I study? This course will help you develop your personal and social skills and support you to become an independent learner.
The course covers three main areas

Literacy, Numeracy and IT to give you a good grounding in these areas. You will gain an Edexcel Certificate to show that you have developed these skills.

You will produce assignments and work towards the Entry Level Certificate in Skills for Working Life.

You also follow a programme of personal development leading to an additional qualification - the ASDAN Bronze Award. This will build on personal skills and involves various activities. It will help you develop the essential abilities you need to succeed in education, work and life

You can choose from the following subject areas:

Business

Health and Social Care

ICT (Information Technology

Practical Skills

Sports and Recreation.

Students on the Sports and Recreation pathway will also have the opportunity gain the Sport Leaders Award and the Community Sports Leaders Award

Edexcel Entry level Certificate in Skills for Working Life

Edexcel Certificate in Adult Numeracy

Edexcel Certificate in Adult Literacy

Asdan COPE Level 1.

What can I do after the course? On completion, you can progress to any Level 1 course, or you may decide that you want to do a training programme towards an NVQ
