ESOL Level 1 - Evening
(Intermediate)(2009/2010)
Study Method:
You will study ESOL Skills for Life materials, work in pairs and groups and use a wide variety of activities and materials such as CDs, DVDs, computers to help you learn. You will have individual tutorials with your tutor who will set individual learning targets with you.
You will have access to the ICT Room where you can practice your pronunciation and listening and work on your grammar.
Duration :Evening - 6 hours per week, 2 nights a week
Who the Course is For:
Speakers of other languages who need to improve their English.
Assessment:
You can do a Cambridge ESOL exam at the end of each term, if you are ready. There are exams in Reading, Writing and Speaking & Listening.
Entry Requirements:
Entry Level 3 exam certificates or assessment at Level 1.
Content:
You will develop your English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, your range of vocabulary and work on improving pronounciation, learning to communicate in a wide variety of situations. You will develop skills which will help when looking for a job such as attending a job interview or writing a CV.
You will be prepared for the national ESOL Skills for Life exams, which are in Reading, Writing and Listening and Speaking.
You will use computers to help learn English and to use Moodle, our virtual learning environment, which contains lots of information and activities that you can get to from any computer that has access to the Internet.
