The course will cover:

• Safety for operators

• Importance of accurate spreading and related costs

• Identification of different fertilizers and methods of production

• Understanding the potential problems for spreading and causes of stripes

• Keeping records of field work

• Checking and setting machines according to the manufacturers instructions. Including calibration of application

• Rates

• Demonstrate a tray test of one spreader, weather permitting

• Cleaning and maintenance of machines and winter storage.
